Denhams’ Rick Stein’s Taste of Shanghai has been shortlisted in the Best Programme category in the 2017 Fortnum & Mason Food & Drink awards which celebrate the best in food and drink writing and broadcasting.

In the programme produced by Denhams for BBC2’s China season, Rick explores Shanghai and discovers the pockets of traditional food still left in the giant metropolis. The director and producer is Grace Kitto, Associate Producer is Arezoo Farahzad and the executive producer is David Pritchard.

The awards will be presented on 11 May 2017 at Fortnum & Mason’s flagship store in Piccadilly.

Denhams’ Grace Kitto said, “This is great news – we all loved the city of Shanghai and Rick still talks about the red braised pork he had there.  We’re delighted that the programme has been short-listed.  We particularly enjoyed the chance to celebrate amazing dishes from shao long bao, Shanghai’s own stuffed dumplings, to the fantastic scallion pancakes we had for a whopping street food breakfast.”
