Rick Stein embarks on another culinary long weekend in search of food excellence and brilliant recipes. This week he heads north towards the Arctic Circle to explore the culinary delights of Reykjavik. It’s a perfect winter break enriched with a smorgasbord of the best Iceland has to offer: Rick samples succulent fjord-reared roast lamb, rye bread baked in volcanic sand and is in search of the perfect cod.
Back in his Cornish home he cooks recipes inspired by his Icelandic trip: simple cod gratin, langoustine soup and lamb chops with spiced red cabbage and blueberries.
